Can I share something with you? I was raised christian and I truly loved the lord but didn’t have a relationship with him. Salvation is personal and eventhough my parents served in church and even were pastors at one point, that still didn’t save me. I had an emptiness in my heart. I looked for that fulfillment in having relationships that destroyed me. In becoming a mother at 16. I love my daughters and I know all children are gifts but my reasoning was wrong. I was trying to fill my void with sexual immorality. Instead of waiting till I was married. Something the word of God advises us to RUN from. I ran to it not from it.
- 1 Corinthians Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.
- 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God;
- 1Corinthians 6:9-10 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
There’s a void in our hearts and we try so hard to find out what it is. So we go and seek it in a person (relationships) and they fail miserably leaving us sometimes with an even bigger emptiness. You seek it In substances, they lead you to became an addict at times. You seek it in buying things, it leads you to debt. You seek it in entertainment, it leads you to escalade your fun when pG-13 isn’t enough. There are many other thigs we seek that lead us to a road of destruction. NOTHING from this world will fill that void. That’s because that void can only be filled with. GOD.
The longing you feel for something can only be filled by someone and that’s JESUS.
Ecclisiastes 2:1 I said to myself, “Come on, let’s try pleasure. Let’s look for the ‘good things’ in life.” But I found that this, too, was meaningless. 2 So I said, “Laughter is silly. What good does it do to seek pleasure?” 3 After much thought, I decided to cheer myself with wine. And while still seeking wisdom, I clutched at foolishness. In this way, I tried to experience the only happiness most people find during their brief life in this world. 4 I also tried to find meaning by building huge homes for myself and by planting beautiful vineyards. 5 I made gardens and parks, filling them with all kinds of fruit trees. 6 I built reservoirs to collect the water to irrigate my many flourishing groves. 7 I bought slaves, both men and women, and others were born into my household. I also owned large herds and flocks, more than any of the kings who had lived in Jerusalem before me. 8 I collected great sums of silver and gold, the treasure of many kings and provinces. I hired wonderful singers, both men and women, and had many beautiful concubines. I had everything a man could desire! 9. So I became greater than all who had lived in Jerusalem before me, and my wisdom never failed me. 10 Anything I wanted, I would take. I denied myself no pleasure. I even found great pleasure in hard work, a reward for all my labors. 11 But as I looked at everything I had worked so hard to accomplish, it was all so meaningless—like chasing the wind. There was nothing really worthwhile anywhere.
Are you still awake? That was long wasn’t it? Haha but really read it again if you fell asleep 😉
So anything this world offers can not and will not satisfy your heart.
It wasn’t until I repented and gave my life to the Lord truly and whole heartedly that I felt complete. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [Proverbs 28:13 ]People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy.Like I had a piece missing and God fit right in as if he was almost always meant to be there. You know why? Because he created us and that little spot does belong to him. Genesis 2:7 Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
There is a God, he is real and he want you to know true love, true forgives, true joy and fulfillment. Open your heart to the lord and surrender it all to him and he will fill that void. He will give you water from the well that Never runs dry. It doesn’t matter who you are, what you have done, look for God and ask him to forgive you, depart from it, and be a new creation because God is the only thing that can fill that void.
