My last post about my sins as a Christian child inspired me to share with you another intimate post.
.Why I believe in Jesus Christ my savior.
As a young child I knew there was a God. Not because my parents beat it in to me or “brainwashed” me as many would say, but because I had an encounter with him at the age of eight. I knew there had to be someone greater than us (now as a teen I still knew and felt this but I let my flesh over take me) I knew that there must be a creator. I want to tell you that there are people that from a young age do not have this feeling and I know for those people it’s harder, but I firmly believe that those people are the ones that probably didn’t have guidance as a child to Christ and even those people when they open their hearts to God become amazing believers. Look at Paul!
My parents taught me who God was. My mother fasted, cried and begged the Lord for us. Let me share with you some big and small reasons why I believe in Jesus. It’s not scientific evidence because to me science won’t convince me more than, that of the spirit.
I believe Jesus Christ was born of a virgin.
I believe Jesus came to earth and was the greatest man alive.
I believe he died in the cross for MY sins. He took what belonged to me as penalty and gave me a free ticket to his father God. Someone who paid the death penalty for me because he loved me that much.
I believe he died and rose again and is in heaven and is coming again.
I believe in Jesus because I feel the Holy Spirit when I am in doubt, when I am sad, when I am angry, when I am confused, when I am wrong, when I’m happy and when I need help.
I believe in Jesus because I’ve SEEN with my own eyes his work in my family.
- He provided food for us in many occasions when we were poor when I was a child, people would come to our door step to deliver food when we never asked or told anyone but prayed. Provided.
- Just one day after coming to the U.S my mother came to Christ and was made new and it was noticeable. Renews.
- One of my sisters stopped breathing as a child and was taken and declared non responsive but my parents cried to God and he responded in grace. Heals.
- I have seen God pour out his mercy when my parents had no one to lean on after losing the church.Comforts.
- I have seen with my eyes how God has helped my parents, my mother was an orphan and found an eternal father in heaven who will NEVER LEAVE HER. My father was restored from his past, that one day I’ll share if he allows. Restores.
- I saw how God helped my sister’s from deep darkness. Savior.
- I saw how God has change my husband. There is no doubt in my mind that only God did it. Not me, not anyone could transform a man like Jesus. Power.
- I have seen God correct us when we are wrong and are straying away from him. Father.
- When my husband came to Christ it was noticeable. Our home life changed forever. Holy Spirit.
These are just some reasons but one very strong reason I choose to follow Jesus is not only because of who he is (that’s the most important reason btw, who he is not what he’s done that’s all stuff we don’t deserve but he’s a giver) but what I have experienced from following him.
“No one can change your mind about how you feel when God comes to your life and transforms your heart, only you know, only you feel it, only you hear it”.
I have chosen to follow Jesus because when I needed someone the most he responded. I choose Jesus because when I felt empty no one or anything would fill the void but JESUS. I choose Jesus because all my plans reaped destruction on myself but when I followed Jesus his plans for me always come with peace and challenge that form me in to a better mother and wife. Whe I came to know Jesus I have felt a strong desire to stay away from the things I KNEW before would make me stumble or others.
He is my strength. Everyday I choose to follow him. Everyday I lift my hands to thank him for the change in my home. I thank him for his mercy. I thank him for the life I don’t deserve. I thank him for his Holy Spirit who guides me, corrects me and confronts me. I thank him for giving me life, for giving me a chance to share his word to everyone who is lost. I thank him because he is REAL, I don’t need scientific evidence because you can’t feel science the way you feel God. I believe in God because he reminds me daily how great he is.
I choose Jesus because I know who I was before him and who I am now, that I gave my life completely to him. I know what I did in my past and how he was the only one who made me feel a certain way that I knew he was real. I know how I can be without him. I don’t want to be that person. I know how I felt when he came to my life and changed my heart. I know how I can fall if I don’t have Jesus.
If you’re reading this today, if you have never known love, acceptance, forgiveness and grace I ask that you pray to God. To repent from your sins. *1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.* The bible says that the only way to God in heaven is through his son Jesus Christ. *John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”.* Repent from the sins that nailed his precious son to that cross that you may have a life with him in heaven. And stay clear of it. That you ask the lord to forgive you and that you allow him to come to your heart and transform you, to take from you everything that is in his way. *Romans 10:9 If you say with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved from the punishment of sin.* To let his Holy Spirit correct you and comfort you. *John 14:26, “These things I have spoken to you, while abiding with you. “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.”* To be obedient to his correction. *Titus 2:12-14 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope – the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.* To be faithful when things are bad, when you are poor, when others wrong you, when you feel alone and when you feel like returning to your old self. He didn’t promise riches on earth but he gave us the best gift! Salvation. Give your life to Jesus because one day he will come and take his church and oh how those who rejected him will wish they had chosen him. Get connected with a good church, people who will teach you the word and hold you accountable to it.
*”Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left. “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. (Matthew 24:40-44)”*
To those who know Christ and are back sliding I pray you return to your first love Jesus. This world has many opinions and can be hard to say “no” to your desires but know that God’s way and opinions are the ones that matter. 2 Peter 2:21 For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them. Oh sister return to Christ. Let us not forget. Revelation 3:3 Remember, then, what you received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If you will not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come against you. It is never to late to come back to the Lord. Pray for real heart change, only then will you be strong enough to not turn back.
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
