When you miss God’s will

One of the most repetitive things I hear is, “what’s God’s will for me?”. I hear this and I find myself at times wondering if what I do IS his will for my life. We forget that his will for us is to be saved, John 6:39-40 For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”

His will for us is to have a thankful heart, 1 Thessalonians 5:18 Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

That you abstain from sin, 1 Thessalonians 4:3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality.

His will is that we may delight ourselfs in his word and law, Psalm 40:8 I delight to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.”

His will is not hidden from us. It’s there in the holy word of God! You can’t “find” his will because it’s not lost. It’s in his word for all to read and obey.

As a mother I was so desperate for this will this, amazing, world changing will, that I missed my calling. My will.

Being a mother. To raise my children to know his will. To do his will. This is a world changing will.

Don’t get so lost in trying to be in Gods will, that you miss his will. For me as a mother it was, Children.

Dive in to the word of the Lord, delight in his laws, be thankful, stay far from things that will draw you far from your creator. His will isn’t lost, God has a way of opening the eyes of a person seeking his will. Sometimes it’s something as “small” as being a mother who raises fruitful children.

Much love, Ana Nelson
