Happy Mother’s Day

Proverbs 31:25-31

Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.” …

Leaving my children a legacy of goodness is hard. Naturally I’m a sinner in need of jesus and many times I find myself wondering just “how I’m going to do it” and I remember that there’s a promise that Gods word doesn’t return empty. There’s a promise that God will guide me and give me wisdom if I ask. I hold on to this.

I also have a huge part to play, to be a wise woman who puts her life at the feet of Jesus and not her sinful desires to rule over my husbands and to rip my home down with my own hands for the sake of getting what I want.

So today, on the day we celebrate Mother’s Day I want you to remember: to hold on to the Lords promises to lead you, love you, forgive you, and to always be there for you.

So how can I leave this legacy of goodness? With Jesus, continually laying my life at his feet. When I die I want my children to know I loved my family with every being of my body but more than that… I loved Jesus. That’s how we can leave that legacy. Not in our own strength but with Jesus! Am I just talking about te gospel or am I waking it?

Don’t get so distracted by this world (it’s super easy) Remember that we have a huge role to play and by Gods grace and love we can do it! We set the tone in our homes ladies, we are the ones who God has called to raise a mighty generation. Don’t get distracted. Lay down everything at his feet and allow him to clean you, lead you, forgive you and love you!

To the New mom, to the mom who has angels, to the mom who’s mothers have passed, to the empty nester.

Happy Mother’s Day and never forget you’re a great influence. Use it well in the name of Jesus!

Happy Mother’s Day.
