Father’s day is tomorrow.
I want to encourage you to not only serve your husband because it’s the only day they get recognition but to ask God to help you see where you can improve your role as a wife.
I am my husband’s helper. That means I was given BY GOD the gift of helping him through all things. Emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. That means it’s a privilege to be the one who he comes to for help. It could be an ear to listen without interruption. It could be a literal helping hand with a dishwasher… Ask me how I know. Haha. It could be allowing him to express himself without judgement. It can be sometimes being the one to lead the home spiritually by being the strong one to pray and read God’s word when he’s going through trials. It means making his favorite meal. It means trying to make your home a haven (that looks different for everyone) for your family.
It’s welcoming him home with a smile and not a bad attitude. It’s respecting him, setting and example for your children on how he ought to be treated as the head of the home.
It shouldn’t be just ONE day that father’s need love and recognition. Same way mothers should not just have one day.
I always pray for my husband but especially on two days. Father’s day and every year the Lord allows him to have a birthday.
This year I want you to make him a priority by praying and asking God how you can better serve him. Did you ever stop to think that dads are also the Lord’s children? Yeah.
I encourage you today!
1 Peter 4:10
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace:
For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
The wisest of women builds her house, but folly with her own hands tears it down.
An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.
